Building on the success of the 2010 edition, Bloomberg New Energy Finance is bringing the Energy Smart Technologies (EST) Leadership Forum to Europe. Last year we examined the challenges of bringing emerging technologies to the tipping point. This year’s edition is convened with the knowledge that change has already begun: electric vehicles are hitting the mass market; distributed generation is ramping up; smart meters are being deployed across continents.
Through structured discussion and debate, the Forum will explore two key questions:
- Are we ready to meet the challenges of integrating new technologies into our energy system?
- What compelling business models will emerge from today’s cycle of innovation?
Participants are carefully selected to ensure a meaningful exchange of ideas between a diverse, relevant and influential group of sector leaders in a closed-door environment. The format will be structured around panel debates, interactive working groups and war game simulations. Conclusions from the Leadership Forum will be published in a white paper, setting out recommended courses of action for policy makers and industry players.
