(Bloomberg) — Acciona SA, Spain’s second-largest clean-energy company, will supply 65 wind turbines for Brazilian
projects jointly owned by Atlantic Energias Renovaveis SA and
private-equity firm Actis.
The Lagoa do Barro and Queimada Nova wind farms in the
northeastern state of Piaui will start receiving turbines
capable of generating 195 megawatts in 2017, Madrid-based
Acciona said in a statement Monday. The wind farms are expected
to become operational in 2018 and Acciona will operate and
maintain the equipment for 15 years.
The main components of the turbines will be made in Brazil,
with some assembly done in a plant in Bahia state.
