Apex Agrees to Sell 50 Megawatts From Oklahoma Wind-Power Plant

(Bloomberg) — Apex Clean Energy Inc., a Charlottesville,
Virginia-based wind-power developer, agreed to sell 50 megawatts
of capacity from an Oklahoma project to Western Farmers Electric
Cooperative Inc.

The electricity will be generated by Apex’s 150-megawatt
Grant Wind project, which is expected to begin operating this
year and produce enough power for 56,000 homes, according to an
e-mailed statement Monday.

It’s the second agreement with the cooperative, which
bought 100 megawatts of power from a different Apex wind project
in November 2013, according to the statement. The company, which
last week said it sold a 300-megawatt project to D.E. Shaw &
Co., expects to bring five projects totaling more than 1
gigawatt of capacity into service this year.
