Daiwa House, Partners to Build 2MW Hydro-Power Station in Japan

(Bloomberg) — Daiwa House Industry Co. and partners have
set up a venture to build a 2-megawatt hydro-power station in
Gifu prefecture, central Japan.

The plant will start running in November 2017, the Osaka-based company said in a statement today. A unit of Toshiba Corp.
will also take part.

The project is the first hydro station for Daiwa, which is
also developing solar and wind projects. Daiwa will buy the
power produced at the plant for 20 years under Japan’s incentive
program for renewable energy, according to the statement.
