(Bloomberg) — The German utility EON SE is teaming with
Banca Prossima SpA to boost energy efficiency and cut polluting
carbon emissions in Italy’s public sector.
Together they will assess the potential for energy-saving
projects and help finance their development, EON said Thursday
in a statement on its website. The works may include efficiency
measures in buildings and on-site power generation, it said.
“This initiative is especially important against the
background of the current challenges the Italian economy
faces,” Marco Morganti, chief executive officer of Banco
Prossima, said in the statement. Reducing public costs results
is a better use of resources, fueling growth and employment
opportunities, he said.
