Genera Gets $4 Million From WindSail to Expand Biomass Operation

Dec. 11 (Bloomberg) — Genera Energy Inc., a U.S. biomass
supplier, received a $4 million investment from WindSail Capital
Group to expand operations.

Genera, based in Vonore, Tennessee, produces biomass made
from crops including switchgrass for more than 20 customers in
eight states, Chief Executive Officer Kelly Tiller said today.
The investment from Boston-based WindSail will help the company
grow crops in new regions for additional customers.

“This is very important growth capital — the timing is
really a key here,” Tiller said in a telephone interview. “We
are seeing a lot of new opportunities in several markets for
biomass, not just advanced biofuels, but bio-power and bio-chemical and bio-product.”
