Sept. 9 (Bloomberg) — Hanwha SolarOne Co., the
photovoltaic manufacturing unit of Korea’s Hanwha Group, agreed
to supply panels with 50 megawatts of capacity to Baotou
Shansheng New Energy Co. in the companies’ second such deal in a
month.
Module deliveries for ground-mounted projects in Inner
Mongolia are expected to begin next month and be completed by
November, the Qidong, China-based unit said today in a
statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Hanwha last month agreed to supply panels to Baotou
Shansheng for projects in Hohhot and Baotou in Inner Mongolia.
The 100 megawatts of module supply agreements are a fourfold
increase in China shipments compared with the first half of the
year, Chief Financial Officer Jay Seo said in the statement.
“We anticipate further momentum in our China business as
the Chinese government has formalized its 13-gigawatt target for
solar installations in 2014 and outlined last week some critical
steps to support distributed generation,” Seo said.
