Iberdrola to Sell Output From Colorado Wind Farm to Tri-State

(Bloomberg) — Iberdrola SA, Spain’s largest utility,
agreed to sell power from a wind farm in Colorado to wholesale
electricity supplier Tri-State Generation & Transmission
Association Inc.

Tri-State agreed to buy all output from the 76-megawatt
Twin Buttes II wind farm near Lamar, Colorado, according to a
statement Thursday from Bilbao-based Iberdrola’s U.S. renewable-energy unit. Terms of the 25-year contract weren’t disclosed.

The 38-turbine project is expected to be completed in 2017
and generate enough power for about 30,000 households.

Tri-State, based outside of Denver, supplies electricity to
about 1.5 million consumers through a network of 44 cooperatives
and public districts covering four states, according to the
statement.
