(Bloomberg) — Japan added 18,757 megawatts of clean-energy
capacity since July 2012, when the country started an incentive
program, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said in a
document posted on its website Wednesday.
During the period, Japan added 18,108 megawatts of solar
capacity. The figures are through the end of March.
The ministry approved a total of 87,680 megawatts of clean-energy projects in the period with solar accounting for 94
percent of that, the data show. The ministry approved 2,290
megawatts of wind power and 2,030 megawatts of biomass projects.
