(Bloomberg) — Japan’s domestic shipments of solar panels
rose 10 percent to 2,239 megawatts in the Oct.-Dec. period from
the same three months in the previous year, the Japan
Photovoltaic Energy Association said in a statement.
Of that, 1,486 megawatts, or 66 percent, of panels were
supplied by Japanese companies including 689 megawatts produced
outside Japan, according to the group. Data was compiled from 40
companies.
In the nine months to Dec. 31, domestic panel shipments
totaled 6,507 megawatts, JPEA said.
