(Bloomberg) — Japan is expected to miss the March 31
target to submit greenhouse gas reduction plans to the United
Nations, the Kyodo News agency reported Friday, citing Yoshio Mochizuki, Japan’s environment minister.
It will be difficult to submit the plans by March 31 and
Japan is speeding up the process of compiling the reduction
plans, the minister was quoted as saying.
Only the European Union, Switzerland and Norway have
unveiled plans as of Friday, according to the website of the
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
