What Kyushu’s Restart of Sendai Reactor Means for Japan

Japan’s first nuclear reactor to pass new safety rules implemented after the 2011 Fukushima disaster will start today. Kyushu Electric Power will begin bringing online the No. 1 reactor at its Sendai facility today, start power generation as early as Aug. 14 and return it to normal operations next month.
