NEC, India’s Andhra Pradesh State to Work on Safe City Project

(Bloomberg) — NEC Corp. will work with AP Technology
Services Ltd., a wholly owned state company of Andhra Pradesh
in India for a safe city project in Tirupati in the state.

NEC will provide solutions and technologies for systems for
facial recognition and automated fingerprint identification,
Tokyo-based NEC said in a statement Tuesday.

The two companies will also work in areas such as cyber
security and smart transportation, according to the statement.
