Ormat Agrees to Build $22.3-Million Utah Heat-to-Energy Project

Nov. 5 (Bloomberg) — Ormat Technologies Inc., a U.S.
developer of geothermal energy, won a $22.3-million order from
Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems to install a heat-to-energy system at a natural gas compressor station.

The system will produce electricity from heat at the Veyo
gas plant that’s otherwise wasted, Reno, Nevada-based Ormat said
in a statement today. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

The Veyo installation is expected to be complete in the
second half of next year and will be the second such recovered-energy system on the Kern River gas pipeline. The other unit in
Southern Nevada has 7 megawatts of capacity.
