Pattern Energy Plans to Buy 43 Megawatts of Canada Wind Capacity

(Bloomberg) — Pattern Energy Group Inc., which has a stake
in almost 2 gigawatts of wind-power capacity, plans to add 43
megawatts to that from a project in Canada.

The company “expects to acquire” a portion of the North
Kent wind farm in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, the San Francisco-based
company said in a statement Tuesday. Financial terms weren’t
disclosed.

The 100-megawatt North Kent project, which Pattern Energy
is jointly developing with Samsung C&T Corp., has a 20-year
agreement to sell power to Ontario’s Independent Electricity
System Operator. The wind farm is expected to be completed by
the end of 2017.
