(Bloomberg) — ReneSola Ltd., a Chinese solar manufacturer,
is planning to build 22.5 megawatts of power plants in Japan.
ReneSola acquired development rights for ground-mounted
solar farms that are expected to go into production late this
year and early in 2016, the Jiashan, China-based company said in
a statement Monday. The name of the seller and terms of the deal
weren’t disclosed.
The company expects to primarily use its own panels for the
solar farms. Japan is the world’s biggest solar market after
China, and is expected to install more than 11 gigawatts of
capacity this year, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
