Utility Celesc Seeks Partners for Renewable Projects in Brazil

Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) — Brazilian power utility Centrais
Eletricas de Santa Catarina, known as Celesc, is seeking
partners for hydro, wind, thermal, solar and biomass energy
projects.

Celesc is giving companies interested in the joint ventures
30 days to present projects, the Florianopolis, Brazil-based
company said on its website.

This is the utility’s third public search for partnerships
in energy projects. In 2012, it received project proposals for a
combined 1.5 gigawatts, of which its board recommended 112.3
megawatts be considered. The company is still evaluating the
proposed partners for those projects.

Officials at Celesc’s press office said a company spokesman
wasn’t available to comment on the projects.
